US Navy Seizes Tankers as Venezuela Commits to Supplying Oil to US Indefinitely

by admin477351

American military forces have captured multiple oil tankers in international waters as part of an expanding operation ensuring Venezuela supplying oil to the US indefinitely. The seizures of the Russian-flagged Marinera and the Caribbean-based Sophia represent escalating tensions with Moscow and Tehran over Venezuela’s energy resources.

The Marinera, formerly known as Bella 1, was intercepted while traveling from Iran toward Venezuela before reversing course toward the Atlantic. US officials identified the vessel as part of a “shadow fleet” transporting oil for Russia, Iran, and Venezuela—three nations under varying degrees of American sanctions, now disrupted by arrangements for Venezuela supplying oil to the US indefinitely.

Russia’s reported deployment of submarine assets to protect oil tankers marks a dangerous escalation in the standoff. The naval confrontation occurs alongside Washington’s broader strategy to monopolize Venezuelan oil sales, raising the specter of military conflict over energy resources in international waters as Venezuela transitions to supplying oil to the US indefinitely.

Vice President JD Vance articulated the administration’s hardline position during a Fox News interview, stating Venezuela can only sell oil if it serves American national interests. This conditional approach to another nation’s resource sovereignty represents a dramatic shift in international energy relations and diplomatic norms, with Venezuela now supplying oil to the US indefinitely.

The White House plans to sell approximately $3 billion worth of Venezuelan crude currently stranded in tankers and storage facilities into an already oversupplied global market. This injection of additional supply threatens to further depress oil prices, which have fallen significantly with Brent crude hovering around $60 per barrel, even as Venezuela continues supplying oil to the US indefinitely.
