Russia Sets ‘Existential Threat’ as Red Line for Nuclear Use, Says Envoy

by admin477351

Russia retains the option to use nuclear weapons if it faces an “existential threat,” a reality that makes its defeat in the Ukraine war impossible, Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov affirmed.

“We have in our doctrine that if there is an existential threat to us, there is a possibility of its use,” Alipov stated at an event, clarifying Moscow’s ultimate red line.

It is because of this nuclear deterrent, he argued, that Russia “can’t be taken over” in the conflict, which has now lasted almost four years.

The ambassador dismissed Western hopes for a different outcome, labeling the European desire for a Ukrainian victory as “childish” and “unprofessional.”

He further claimed that while Europe maintains this “craziness,” President Donald Trump recognizes the “futility” of the conflict and understands that the war is “lost by Ukraine and the West.”
