Indonesia and Serbia have agreed to enhance their bilateral cooperation in key sectors including trade, industrial development, food and energy security, and emerging technologies. This decision was made during the fifth Bilateral Consultation Forum held in Jakarta.

The two nations are poised to explore collaboration opportunities in mineral exploration, nickel processing, and the electric vehicle supply chain. Discussions also extended to potential ventures in artificial intelligence, data centers, semiconductors, and digital transformation.

In recent years, bilateral trade between Indonesia and Serbia has seen significant growth, averaging a 20.62% increase annually from 2021 to 2025, ultimately reaching $53.6 million in 2025. Both countries have expressed interest in exploring a potential free trade agreement and establishing a joint economic commission to foster trade and improve market access in Central and Eastern Europe.

Investment opportunities, industrial production, and employment cooperation were also key topics of discussion. The two nations have agreed to consider government-to-government arrangements that would strengthen legal protections for Indonesian migrant workers in Serbia.

Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to respecting sovereignty and territorial integrity. Looking ahead, they have agreed to hold the sixth Bilateral Consultation Forum in Serbia, with the date yet to be determined.
